Every person, young or old, has an internal clock. For example, it determines when we get tired and when it’s time to wake up. However, that is not the only thing that our biorhythm affects. There are a few things that you should or should not do at certain times of the day.
For example, do you want to lose a few pounds? Then it’s best to start the day with a breakfast rich in protein. They are in eggs, cottage cheese and nuts, for example. At night, your muscles follow a forced fast, but when you wake up, your muscles need a new dose to function properly. When you eat proteins in the morning, they also cause a feeling of satiety longer than when you do that in the evening. This makes losing weight or maintaining weight a lot easier!
Timing is science
The American effectiveness expert and bestselling author Daniel Pink did research into our biorhythm. He discovered that our biological clock influences many more things. “Timing is nothing less than a serious science,” Pink says in his book. Using his knowledge in the fields of psychology, biology and economics, he explains how smart use of this knowledge can make us more successful in our personal relationships and work.
The sharpest hours
This is how our brains function best between ten o’clock in the morning and one o’clock in the afternoon. In the following hours we are most creative. That is because the fatigue starts to strike, making it easier for us to think out-of-the-box.
Also the time at which we exercise would, depending on your goals, have more effect at certain times than at others. Have you been training for weeks to get some strength in your arms or legs? Then try to work out between three and six in the afternoon. During those hours, your muscles are 20% more flexible and your lungs work 18% better. But do you want to lose weight or improve your mood? Then it would be a good idea to get out of bed early for a good workout.
