Some things you would rather not know ...

No matter how clean your house is, you can't escape it: mite. The bugs that are invisible to the naked eye crawl through our couch, pillows and mattress. You should not dwell on it for too long, because it is not very pleasant. The scientific magazine Quest posted an image of this mite on Twitter and it spontaneously starts to itch again!

Mite

Mark Traa, chief editor of Quest, posted an image on Twitter of the hair follicle mite, or the Demodex mite. This mite is often on dogs, but the human body also finds this mite a pleasant place to live. This mite lives in the hair follicles of your eyelashes, says Traa. “At night he comes crawling outside to eat from your face and poop on it. You do not see him, he is too small for that. Good night later hey. ”Bah!

Skin

You don't have to worry that you will suddenly wake up with all the dirty critters on your face and in your eyes, because the mite is only 0.1 mm long. That's why you can't see him! Yet this mite can be quite irritating, because it causes itching, pain and acne. Because the animal walks over your skin and poops on it, small inflammations can occur that cause irritation and acne.

Clean

Preventing mites is difficult because they are everywhere. Especially if you have pets, they carry these critters. It is advised to keep your skin clean. Do you suffer from inflammation caused by this mite? Then ivermectin cream seems to work because it addresses inflammation and mites. It is also recommended to lubricate your skin with (olive) oil, as this causes them to choke.

Twitter

Mark Traa posted the image with explanation on Twitter, after which he received many different reactions. The one thought it was funny, the other horrified. Some people reacted very strongly to the news that this innocent creature might be running on their faces.
