The groups of elderly, chronically ill and people with physical disabilities overlap. Older people more often have chronic illness and limitations than younger adults: 79% of the over-75s have a chronic disease compared to 11% of people between 0 and 24 years. To avoid much repetition in this book, we therefore discuss these groups in one chapter. We assume the group of elderly people. We mention specific aspects of the other groups separately if that makes sense.
