Introduction - Contact
This chapter is about contact between you as a professional and people in your practice who have characteristics of a certain target group. People with whom you may have had little contact. People who sometimes have specific characteristics (life phase, complex health problems, language, clothing, behavior), sometimes not. People who often require good communication skills from you.
It helps to think about what has been discussed in Chapter 1: specific characteristics are always only a part of the person. What also helps is an open attitude and interest in the person you are in contact with. Say positive curiosity.
In addition, there are practical tools to deal with people from different target groups. In this chapter we mention a few handles and indicate where they will be discussed extensively.
