If self-direction requires extra attention
Self-management (self-management) is becoming increasingly important. This requires more than just understanding from a patient. In order to be able to take control, the patient must also have an overview of his options. He must be able to oversee the advantages and disadvantages of certain options in order to choose a feasible approach. He has to carry out his choice at home and (sometimes long) persevere. He will have to solve the problems he encounters. In short: if the patient takes control in his own hands, he must have a lot of problem-solving skills.
